Sarah is the Clinical Program Director at WPA Kids and the cornerstone of success for children with mental health and behavioral needs. She leads the program with compassion and excellence, utilizing her deep understanding of the complex requirements and tailored approaches essential for working with children. Her expertise is complemented by advanced training in play therapy, EMDR, and the clinical complexities related to children, adolescents, and their families, establishing her as a leading specialist in the field.
Sarah’s approach is both empathetic and innovative, employing play therapy techniques to help children articulate their feelings and address complex emotional and psychological challenges within a safe and supportive environment. Known for her patience, creativity, and commitment to nurturing a comfortable atmosphere, Sarah ensures that each child feels understood and valued. About Marie Bonner-Horon
Marie is a highly experienced Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who provides clinical supervision for WPA Kids, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to ensuring that children and their families receive high-quality services. Her career in the field began in 2007 as a school counselor, leading her to specialize in Play Therapy and deepen her understanding of treating children with complex psychological needs. She is dedicated to using evidence-based techniques designed specifically for children, believing strongly in their benefits for fostering positive outcomes.
Marie is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S), and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). Her dedication to the field is evident in her role as the President of the Missouri Association for Play Therapy and her recent publication in Play Therapy magazine. As the owner of Ways of Play, a private practice, Marie focuses on fostering growth in upcoming professionals and delivering expert care through Play Therapy across the lifespan, supporting individuals of all ages.
