Heather Cox is a reliable and adaptable clinician who brings a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and work ethic to her role at McIntyre Psychological Services. She is committed to going above and beyond to support both her clients and the team, and she values building productive, collaborative, and supportive professional relationships.

Heather is a second-year Master’s student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Central Methodist University, where she also earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology. She believes in meeting clients where they are, honoring each individual’s unique goals, pace, and lived experiences. Her therapeutic approach integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and psychoeducation to foster growth, self-awareness, and emotional balance.

Heather views the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of meaningful change and emphasizes collaboration, empathy, openness, and authenticity within a safe, nonjudgmental space. She works with individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, emotion regulation difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and relationship challenges.

Outside of her clinical work, Heather enjoys reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her friends, family, and dogs.
