Jennifer Bessert
Counselor Intern
Jennifer is a dedicated advocate for expanding access to mental health care for military families, first responders, and others in need. Her clients describe her as compassionate, patient, and caring, always striving to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams.
With a background influenced by her father's career as a police officer and her family's role in foster care, Jennifer has a unique perspective on the challenges faced by children in unstable situations. As a military educator, she honors cultural diversity while supporting families through separations, transitions, and emotional difficulties.
Jennifer holds a BA in Social Science and a minor in Child Development. Over the past two decades, she has worked in various fields, including teaching at military youth centers, private schools, and the Missouri Department of Mental Health’s day program.
Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys family time, reading, art, and music. Her strong faith and loving family keep her grounded and motivated.
