Rhett Campbell
Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor
Rhett Campbell is a counselor who specializes in working with individuals carrying complex trauma, dissociative experiences, and long histories of feeling unsafe in relationships. Many of his clients come to therapy feeling guarded or unsure whether therapy can really help. Some worry they are “too much,” “too complicated,” or “too abnormal” to be fully known and respected.
Rhett wants you to know: you are not too much.
He works especially well with people who have felt misunderstood, pathologized, or rushed in the past. If you struggle with identity-based stress, existential questions, or deep relational wounds, Rhett creates a space where your experiences are taken seriously — not minimized or explained away.
His approach is grounded in trauma-informed therapy, with additional training in EMDR and play therapy. Rhett believes that symptoms and coping strategies make sense when viewed in the context of a person’s history. Rather than focusing on quick fixes or surface-level change, he prioritizes emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, and new relational experiences as the foundation for lasting growth.
Rhett is particularly attuned to clients who feel frightened of therapy itself. He understands that trust is not automatic — it is built over time. He approaches the therapeutic relationship with humility and patience, allowing the work to unfold at a pace that feels safe and collaborative. He is comfortable sitting with complexity, uncertainty, and experiences that do not fit neatly into diagnostic categories.
As a trans man, Rhett is committed to providing explicitly affirming, nonjudgmental care. He believes neutrality alone is not enough for safety and works intentionally to create a space where clients do not have to justify or defend who they are. His practice is grounded in respect for diverse identities, relationships, and ways of being.
Rhett works with individuals who are seeking depth-oriented therapy — people who want more than symptom management and are ready to understand the roots of their patterns and pain. At the heart of his work is the belief that meaningful change happens through understanding, connection, and genuine human presence.
