Whitney Watts
Counselor in Training
Whitney believes therapy should feel like a place where you can finally exhale. Currently pursuing her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of West Alabama, Whitney brings experience in behavioral health support and crisis care, along with a calm, compassionate presence that helps clients feel safe, understood, and supported from the very beginning.
She works with adolescents and adults struggling with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm. Whitney focuses on helping clients move from feeling “stuck” to feeling more grounded, emotionally steady, and confident in navigating everyday life.
Whitney’s approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. She believes healing happens through genuine connection, practical tools, and creating a space where clients can show up exactly as they are—without fear of judgment. Whether someone is processing past trauma, managing intense emotions, or simply trying to feel like themselves again, Whitney works alongside clients at their own pace.
She is currently training in Cognitive Processing Therapy and is passionate about helping clients move beyond survival mode toward meaningful, lasting change. Whitney is LGBTQ+ affirming and committed to providing inclusive, respectful care that honors each client’s identity, story, and lived experience.
Clients working with Whitney can expect a therapist who is engaged, supportive, and focused on helping them make real progress—not just talking through problems, but building the insight, stability, and momentum needed to create lasting change.
Outside of therapy, Whitney enjoys spending time with her husband and two teenagers, being near the water, thrifting, and getting lost in a good book.
