William Patrickus

Supervised Therapist

William Patrickus is a Counselor Intern currently earning his Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at Central Methodist University in Fayetteville, Missouri, with an expected graduation in 2027. Before beginning graduate school, he worked at Cedar Recovery in Linn Creek, where he supported individuals navigating co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges. This experience shaped his passion for helping clients feel understood, supported, and capable of meaningful change.

William enjoys working with teens, adults, couples, families, and older adults. He takes a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy and draws from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered therapy. His goal is to help clients build insight, develop practical coping skills, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

As a wheelchair user, William brings lived experience with chronic pain, accessibility challenges, and the emotional impact of isolation. This perspective allows him to approach therapy with empathy, authenticity, and a strong commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free space. Clients often appreciate his grounded presence and his belief that every person deserves to be heard and respected.

William welcomes individuals and families seeking support, growth, or a fresh perspective. He strives to meet clients where they are and work alongside them as they identify goals and create meaningful, lasting change.

Outside of the therapy room, William enjoys spending time outdoors with his animals. He plans to continue his education.
